I first bought an F-condiment set with a teak-tray in 2000, price being 180 FIM (currency of the time). In this blog I will focus on shakers and F-condiment set.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Originally Kilta included 8 pieces, but already in a catalogue from 1958 Kilta had grown to include as many as 37 pieces. Alongside the basic pieces a variety of jugs and other complimentary dishes for kitchen were created. The cream jug and its variations turned into decorative pieces of condiment sets.<\/p>\n<p>In a meeting on 17th September in 1953 Franck suggested that a new mustard-jar would be introduced, with a spoon entering the lid through a hole. In a meeting in November the same year a horn-shaped shaker was approved for production. The horn was manufactured with white and brown glazing, first for salt, the following for pepper.<\/p>\n<p>What became memorable of the 1954 triennial was the architecture and exquisite objects of the Finnish showroom. Domus magazine introduced Kaj Francks F-condiment set as one of the best utilities in the triennial. It was a perfect example of thorough design aimed at great practicality. The original mustard jar included a handle, but a model without a handle was introduced at Helsinki fair the following year. In addition to porcelain, teak was used in the tray for the jar and also as a cap for a vinegar bottle. F-shaker was sold in the basic Kilta colors and red.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In addition to F-condiment set, Franck also designed the model BA (design year 1951-1952?, in production 1959-1968), a shaker, and another shaker the shape of a cylinder, (design year 1956, in production 1959-1968), the latter mentioned to be a prototype for an oil-bottle. Ostin tiikkialustalla varustetun F-mausteikon vuonna 2000. Hinta markka-aikaan oli 180 mk. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 blogissa kerron Franckin suunnittelemista sirottimista ja F-mausteikosta.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kiltaan kului alun perin 8 esinett\u00e4, mutta jo 1958 tuotekuvastossa Kilta-koosteeseen kuului yhteens\u00e4 37 esinett\u00e4. Perusastioiden rinnalle syntyi valikoima erilaisia kannuja sek\u00e4 koko joukko ruokap\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 t\u00e4ydent\u00e4vi\u00e4 ja keitti\u00f6\u00f6n j\u00e4rjestyst\u00e4 luovia esineit\u00e4. Kermapullosta muunnelmineen kasvoivat p\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 koristavat mausteikot.<\/p>\n<p>Mallikokouksessa 17.9.1953 Franck ehdotti uutta kannellista sinappiastiaa, jossa sinappilusikan varsi menee kannen sis\u00e4\u00e4n. Mallikokouksessa 5.11.1953 p\u00e4\u00e4tettiin hyv\u00e4ksy\u00e4 mausteikkosarvi (F) kappojen tekemist\u00e4 varten. Sarvi tehtiin valkoisella ja ruskealla lasituksella, jolloin ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 tapauksessa on suolasirotin, viimemainitussa pippurisirotin. (L\u00e4hde Kaj Franck \u2013 universaaleja muotoja s. 340).<\/p>\n<p>Vuoden 1954 triennaalista muistetaan ennen kaikkea Suomen osaston n\u00e4yttelyarkkitehtuuri sek\u00e4 hienot taide-esineet. Domus-lehti esitteli Kaj Franckin F-mausteikon yhten\u00e4 triennaalin parhaista hy\u00f6tyesineist\u00e4. Mausteikko oli malliesimerkki huolellisesta, k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n paneutuvasta suunnittelusta. Alkuper\u00e4isess\u00e4 mallissa sinappiastiassa oli kahva, mutta seuraavana vuonna esiteltiin kahvaton malli Helsingin suurmessuilla. Posliinin lis\u00e4ksi mausteikossa k\u00e4ytettiin tiikki\u00e4 alustassa ja etikkapullon korkissa. F-mausteikoon kuuluvat sirottimet pippurille ja suolalle, \u00f6ljypullo sek\u00e4 sinappiastia. Arabialla oli 1959 vuoden esitteess\u00e4 erillinen raidallinen lahjapakkaus mausteikkoa varten. Sirottimia sek\u00e4 sinappiastiaa on voinut ostaa my\u00f6s erikseen. Sinappiastiaa on myyty keltaisena, mustana, sinisen\u00e4, vihre\u00e4n\u00e4 ja valkoisena. Sirotinta vastaavasti n\u00e4iden v\u00e4rien lis\u00e4ksi punaisena.
